Germany has a complete ban on the activities of the Palestinian group Hamas and ordered the disbanding of a pro-Palestine group accused of spreading anti-Israel and anti-Semitic ideas.
German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said she implemented a formal ban on activity by or in support of Hamas, which is already designated as a “terrorist” organisation in the country.
Egypt banned Hamas and branded it a terrorist organization, and built a steel wall to keep them out of Egypt.
Jordan banned Hamas in 1999. In 2013, Jordan rejected requests to allow Hamas to return.
Hamas and Lebanon’s Hezbollah disagree and were fighting with each other in the recent Syrian civil war (Sunni/Shiite conflict).
