Lord Balfour was a Christian Zionist. I think Pappe is spot on when he links the influence of Christian ideologists to the Jewish nationalist project in the Middle East. Listening to IIlan may help one to sort out what’s happening now as this murderous war continues.
BTW, there are some very cogent observations about this particular nationalist project in Marx’s 1843 essay, “On the Jewish Question” which one can find easily via Google.
