Hamas could have put a stop to this at any point in the last 6 months by simply laying down their arms and releasing all the hostages. As long as Hamas continues to prosecute this war that they initiated, hold on to the hostages, and threaten to commit more Oct 7’s, Israel has not choice but to continue.
