This war between Hamas and Israel is regrettable because of the human casualties in death tolls on both sides. Particularly offensive and worrisome to human sensibilies is the Gaza death tolls.
This being the case it is mentally disturbing to know that Hamas is using its own people in this war as shield and deterrent against potential Israeli strikes. Nothing can justify this. Not even a victory in the public opinion court in a bid to force the hand of the world to rule in Hamas’ favor?
Any deaths in this war resulting from this tactic must be placed at the feet of Hamas and the world must look beyond the ‘occupation theory’ and courageously call out Hamas for this atrocity that appears to know no boundaries.
You cannot claim to value lives that you so recklessly and brazingly put in harms way; you cannot claim to be fighting for the future life of a people whose very existence you destroy so very unwittingly.
Hamas must fight this war in a way that protects the lives of its people first before any other consideration. Any departure from this is an act to self glorification, self-seeking.
Inevitably people who fight their wars in this manner have been known to ultimately oppress the same people they claim to have been struggling and fighting for.
