At one point my wife to be and I spent a Shabbat with an Orthodox Bar Ilan professor and his family in the Old City … (I slept separately in a yeshiva)
On Shabbat we walked to shul and he spoke ‘divrai kodesh’ from the Torah portion or something he was studying that week … it was regarding the concept of ‘rodef’
The shul was in the Old City … the famous Hurva Synagogue and I got an Aliyah due to the respect given to my host (hagba Aliyah)
