The Israeli government doesn’t want to keep former agreed diplomatic healthy relationships and serve peaceful friendly relationship, if it means not being able to further entrench the occupation towards annexation, settlement expansions and have ongoing impunity to frustrate palestinians from their will to Palestinian statehood. That is why Gaza/Rafah border and Westbank/Jordan border are the next goal to tighten the grip and siege, to have more security to further entrench and keep the occupation. There is no interest for peace and living side by side secured with Palestinians and Israeli’s in sovereign states. No will to end the occupation or dehumanization of the palestinian population. Former agreements become obsolete for further entrenchment, for new agreements to break from it, escalation and threads, smear campaigns and accusing of smuggling routes, which endanger Israeli security are from the dirty-toolbox of diplomatic pressure and inflammatory rhetoric of the kind of economic hitmans.
The middle east in peace is a potential thread to dominance and not as easy to influence by diplomatic, military and economic soft/hard power politics.
The Gulf insecure and inflamed by conflict is keeping the status quo of dominance and influence!
