Freedom is relative. If a wiser parent forbids his child from running with scissors, then the parent gives the child the freedom to see with eyes that were not jabbed out by the scissors when the child runs and falls.
“Do What Thou Wilt” only works if you happen to be the smartest one in the universe. Otherwise, it is letting your decisions and choices be guided by a mind that has lower odds of success.
