If that were true, you might have a point, but it is Hamas who initiated this on Oct 7 to include the killing of babies, which made you “gleeful”. You don’t get to violate every UN Rules of War and Geneva Conventions and then ask for protection under the very same Rules. Hamas has to pay, as the sooner the better for everyone involved.
Hamas knew very well that by massacring so many Israelis and rounding up hundreds of hostage, that it was not going to end well for the good people of Gaza.
