How am I wrong? Where else does the idea of Zionism come from? Promised land, chosen people, gathering of the exiles, return to Zion, are not Zionist ideas. These are terms core to Judaism. Even the declaration of the state of Israel is evident of Judaism being the core of Zionism.
What people fail to do is connect the dots. A promised land for a chosen people at first sounds harmless. But when you realize that the promised land is only promised to the chosen people if they eliminate the gentiles then you see how depraved the ideology really is. When you see that the “return to zion” and “gathering of exiles” are innately calls for colonization then you see how Jews are informed to pursue Zionism.
And if that doesn’t do it for you, then practically speaking the super majority of Jews, who are the representatives of Judaism, call themselves Zionists. So outward-in Zionism is sourced from Judaism and inward-out the Jews are telling us Zionism is the same as Judaism.
Sure maybe your next argument is that it is not representative of all Jews. I would argue that those people are really not Jews. At least not in the modern sense. The modern representation is very clear.
