Although it did not expedite the investigation, it was extremely important that the victims of October 7th, 2023 were protected from the insensitive interrogations of the UN. The trauma associated with having lived through the atrocities by the Gazans that invaded Negev that day, is far from over. It will take time to recover, if at all. Often victimised people cannot make it back to normality, and some even take their lives out of despair and depression. Hopefully more of the victims will be able to share their experiences, but only when they are ready to do so.
