For all those years of jihadi regimes control in Gaza, nearly every bit of goods entering Gaza above ground, and below ground; passed through the Sinai; with Egyptians taking a cut of the proceeds. So it is pretty obvious, that the Egyptians want to get back to taking their slice of the pie. The Egyptians need the jihadis, in order to make money off the smuggling. So obviously the Israelis trust them about as far as they can spit.
