It is more interesting to look at the cases where Jews were NOT expelled from their host countries. For example, Hindu India, Taoist China, and Shinto Japan.
What this clearly demonstrates is that in almost all the cases of expulsion it is bloodthirsty Christianity that is the common denominator behind these actions. In some recent cases (after the founding of Israel) it is fanatical Islamism.
Wherever the host culture is accepting of other traditions (e.g. Buddhism) Jews and their host societies have prospered.
