Re: Israeli government votes to close Al Jazeera television

Palestine like many middle east countries does not have a traditional “Free press.”
In fact it is not “free” from censorship, control and crackdowns on journalists.

Unlike democratic countries where the media has freedoms, including to heavily criticize its governments or leaders, most middle east countries have a very controlled media environment, with big restrictions on actual freedom of speech and press.

Middle east “media” are under heavy government control and work like propagandists or “state media” where criticism of the ruling families or dictator leaders can lead to threats, intimidation and even death.

When was the last time anyone saw an article in Al Jazeera, MEMO, or Anadolu Agency critical of Iran, HAMAS or Qatar?
