The ICJ said back in January “all parties fighting in a conflict are obliged to respect International Humanitarian Law be they governmental forces or non-State armed groups. The Geneva Conventions, which are central to IHL, have been ratified by all 196 States, making IHL a universal body of law.
The UNSC and the ICJ clearly called for the “immediate and unconditional release of all Israeli hostages” five months ago.
The European Parliament adopted a precedent-setting resolution stipulating that any ceasefire in Gaza would be conditional on the dismantling of the Hamas terrorist organization and the immediate and unconditional release of all the abductees.–Jan 19, 2024 (five months ago)
