Greece fought for around 100 years to free Greece from the Turks. We could still be fighting for Constantinople. for Smyrna, for Asia Minor. After many wars, and many deaths of Greeks and Turks alike, most Greeks realized we got most of what we wanted and most importantly a country to call our own. You have Israel. if you keep fighting, rather than look for compromises , eventually there will be blowback.
