How about this: Israel never intended to follow the partition agreement. They had been hoarding weapons and stockpiling ammunition since mid-1920s. They formed the FIRST terrorist organizations (Irgun and LHI are only two) in the region, led by future Israeli prime ministers. These groups massacred civilians, forcibly evicted Palestinians from their homes, and stole land to expand their land holding far beyond what was part of the partition plan. This evil behavior continues to this day, only it is from the IDF and settlers. These Palestinian refugees, and their descendants, have every legal right to return to their homes, regardless of their numbers, or what it does to the “demographic destruction” of Israel. No other country on earth is in violation of so many UN Resolutions, so, quite frankly, “I don’t give a damn”.
