The book is called “Code”. I haven’t finished reading it yet. It’s a historical walkthrough of the development of computers but through technical perspective. I’m in IT so often read computer and science related material. As a hobby, I also read a lot on philosophy, history and assortment of other random things online to lessor degree..
I am very careful about sources. I try evaluate the interests of the storyteller to figure out if they are trying to be objective or massaging reality to match their interests. Everyone does the latter to some degree. Whomever owns a news source, will reflect the political spin of that news source so I don’t trust any source completely (even Greek ones). When it comes to politics especially I believe its important to go to competing interests for information. You get a fuller picture of what’s going on because every side always edits out something unflattering to their positions (although the bias is probably not conscious most of the time).
