A Shia majority in Iraq would essentially serve as a proxy of Iran. Its policies would be regressive. At the time of writing there are so many armed militias in Iraq who have pledged their allegiance to the Ayatollah of Iran. It’s sad to see a country of such history be plunged into warfare and a place for foreign powers to exert their influence.
