That window has closed. Any Arab leader who makes peace with Israel now is risking his position in a grave way. He may be able to repress dissent for a while but it will be there bubbling under the surface and will come up again. So they have to ask themselves, “Is it worth it?” Any wise politician would find the answer is no. But there are lots of unwise politicians.
