Netanyahu is simply dog whistling. There’s no such thing as a “leftist” Deep State. The Deep State is basically the Military Industrial Complex. It has tentacles in academia and the judiciary and on both sides of the American political spectrum. The Deep State loves Netanyahu and his endless wars. But out among Trump supporters, the terms “leftist” and “Deep State” are simply dog whistles which Netanyahu is attempting to play for sympathy and support since more and more Israelis seem to be turning against him. They’re doing so for good and obvious reasons. No need to theorize a conspiracy.
