Not so. Herodotus wrote about Palestine in his HISTORIES (book 3) published in the 5th century BCE. He delineated its borders “from the rive to the sea” and describes the tribes occupying the area. Strangely (or not!) not a single tribe he lists has the characteristics of any Hebrew tribe.
