If Sadat had allowed the Egtyptian forces to continue, they would had gone to Tel Aviv. Whether they could maintain their position is another question. The chance was given.
Concerning the fact, that Sadat deciced to reach an agreement by negotiantion instead of prolonging the war, has more a politcal approach than a military conclusion.
In case that the IDF would have gone deeper into Egyptian land, they couldn’t had maintain their position and would have been driven out by the Egyptian Forces.
