The Syrian Undertaker government evidently wanted to make a clear statement concerning those areas that choose to take up arms against the central authority. The pro-Assad regime combatants decided to give a welcoming party to some of the Undertaker government security forces.
Self-appointed President Sharaa sent a clear message: Fire will be met with fire. Not only Undertaker forces and pro-Assad combatants were killed in those four days of fighting, but reportedly over a thousand civilians, mainly Alawites, were also killed by the Undertaker security forces along with the Turk-FSA militias.
Strangely enough, the international outcry and mass protests against the slaughter of the Alawite civilians, seems to be quite low-key, or nearly non existent. Perhaps it depends upon who was killed and who was doing the killing. So as a precautionary measure, many Alawites are getting out of Dodge City.
Also strange, is that the vast numbers of displaced Alawites chose Lebanon instead of Turkey to take refuge.
