For over seven decades, neighbouring peoples have been determined to take over that sliver of land called Israel. Then by the ends of the various wars, those neighbours end up relinquishing tracts of land to Israel. Later, some want it back. If they behave, Israel returns pieces of the lands to them. However, other lands are kept to help make Israel more secure against future neighbours once again acting out. Plus, the additional lands won in battle, help to house the expanding number of immigrants into Israel.
