And they didn’t promise a Jewish state!
After a war there’s either a take over or an agreement. That’s all it was. Ottoman Empire ceased to exist. Germany ceased to have colonies.
That left a vacuum in places so the French and British were charged with administering those areas until they were able to stand on their own. They weren’t new colonies – “With great power comes great responsibility.” Duh!
