The Al-Amal was no longer a “hospital”‘ when Hamas used it as a command and control centre and placed men and munitions in same. At that time, Hamas committed a war crime and in doing this. At that time, the so called “hospital” became a legitimate target for Israel. The Geneva Convention covers this by saying: “It is forbidden to turn recognised civilian hospitals into a conflict zone. It is also forbidden to use civilian populations, the sick or the injured as human shields, it is a war crime, as is fighting from inside a hospital.” Israel warned those in the hospital to evacuate. Some did, but others stayed and what happened to them is the their own fault. Now it appears that Hamas used many hospitals for the same purpose, so they are being hit also. Hamas also uses ambulances to transport men and munitions, another war crime. When they do this, any ambulance can then be considered fair game. The people of Gaza then wonder how come so many women and children are getting killed. Well, the truth is that Gazans’ allow Hamas to do these things, so the people are going to be the losers. The same people allow Hamas to place rockets and munitions in mosques, schools and near private homes, other war crimes. Hamas even had a terror tunnel beneath a school that UNRWA built for them, how good is that?
