I might be visiting from time to time but I’m not going to be spending much time at this website for much longer. I have a lot of things work related tasks I’ve been procrastinating on and this sucks up too much of my time. I found many of the arguments here very similar to ones between Turks and Greeks. It was both interesting and informative to see another former Ottoman empire nation building conflict from another POV in real time. Many of the moral issues you deal with keeping Israel demographically Jewish, Greece (and other nations) also had to go through too and still have to reckon with.
In the proverbial nutshell, the problem is our current definition of “human rights’ is not compatible with homelands. Until we fix this issue globally in some manner in morally consistent way unfortunately it is a perpetual source of conflict (my choice would be to edit the definition of “human rights” to be more accommodating to homelands but in a principled fashion for all nations)
Just wanted to say I’ve enjoyed our debates. Despite that I criticize religion and some Jews too, you’ve shown great class by not taking it personally but rather as an intellectual exercise.. Regardless how this current conflict goes I also hope Greek and Israeli relations continue to flourish. Shalom and all the best.
