After 9/11 several countries friendly to the US argued against invading Iraq and Afghanistan and were ignored and sometimes even demonized. The US at the time was angry and wanted revenge. After a trillion dollars of spending they did not achieve their goal and now many Americans regret the excessive response. A military response should be based on what is achievable and what is moral. If any of these two pieces are missing its a bad choice.
Other than nations with a bone to pick with the US or Israel, no one will blame Israel for hammering Hamas. Children is an entirely different matter though. They are not to blame for the actions of their fanatic parents.
