The probably HTC understands financial support comes with ‘agreements/costs’ with Qatar. Qatar will have Turkiye recede back and interfere less in Syrian affairs. The internal diversity of Syrians will help limit an excessive Sunni controlled regime. The al-Assads used the Syrian diversity to squash the Sunni majority in the country. But the challenge for the HTC is to evolve into a Syria where the Sunni majority can use that diversity to enhance the nation. Syria has to be careful to not get lured into its neighbours’ internal affairs, and as we know Turkiye, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, and Iraq have their own challenges to overcome.
