As far as Africa, the continent of Africa, with 54 Countries and with 60 percent of the world’s unused arable land, cannot feed itself because of low yields, poor farm management practices, and distortions in agricultural markets. Consequently, the continent is overly dependent on food from outside Africa. The African Union could fix this if not for the excessive corruption. They cannot continue to use Western Europe as a safety valve.
