As with so many sensationalist mass media headlines, the minds of many people need their fix of fast and inaccurate news. Probably most confrontations and arguments can be avoided with researching well the evidence instead of often jumping to conclusions. Remembering that information is often biased and manipulated, so it takes time to cipher through what actually happens. But researching is slower than jumping to conclusions, and many people simply do not have the attention span nor understanding to be patient for additional data.
