The Presidential Leadership Council is nothing but a hodgepodge of poisonous irreconcilable rifts. This latest political twist was something waiting to happen. The SOUTHERN TRANSITIONAL COUNCIL (STC) has been adamantly and uncompromisingly pursuing the goal of an independent Southern Yemen since its inception back in 2017.
In my view, nothing will come about in the foreseeable future liable to get the STC to forgo that far-flung dream.
Last but not least, we should not dismiss for its relevance the fact that behind the STC ambitions lies in a substantial and substantive way the support provided by the UAEs.
Birds of a feather flock together . Abu Dhabi considers the STC as an ally in their strategic aims to bolster the political and commercial network down the maritime routes linking the Arabian Peninsula and Eastern Africa.
As we can see, that alliance is based on a massive scale and scope. Peace in that martyred land appears to be more and more remote, unfortunately so.
