Amid all the images of the devastation in Gaza, there’s a saying that’s making the rounds: “Your loss is not a loss if you gained Allah in the process. Your gain is not a gain if you lost Allah in the process.” One has only to observe the difference between the people of Gaza and the people of Israel over these past 15 months. I have never seen such character and transcendent faith as in Gaza. I believe the Gazans when they say that they will rebuild. Gaza will be the shining light that Israel never was; and after Israel’s disastrous behavior these past 15 months (not to mention the last 76 years), never can be. It is that straightforward.
