1929: The Chairman asked for information upon the position of Palestinians who had emigrated to other countries. Sir John Chancellor replied that a number of Syrians and Palestinians had gone to South America, where they had made large fortunes. He believed that the South-American Governments were imposing restrictions on these immigrants.

1924 — The Palestine Development Council’s annual dinner at the Hotel Astor Tuesday evening was attended by 700 persons. Among the speakers were Ittamar Ben Avi, a native Palestinian, and Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, who presided. Professor Felix Frankfurter of the Harvard Law School and Jacob deHaas, Secretary of the Palestine Development Council, also spoke.
