Really interesting article – Good mix between snippets into Iraqi traditions and everyday life coupled with a non-biased interview with an intriguing character. The author keeps the reader engaged and allows them to draw their own conclusions from the interview, and by association the background to Al-Zaidi and the “incident”. Its all too easy to almost forget the past 20 or so years of modern history with the fact that other more recent world events are in our thoughts more regularly, but the fact remains that there’s a fine link between past events and what we hear in the news today.
