According to this opinion piece “Palestinians” have been under “occupation” since 1967. It should be noted that they said “occupation” and NOT “Israeli occupation”. This is important because from 1948-1967 Jordan occupied the West Bank and Egypt occupied Gaza. This proves that the author of this piece (and the majority of Palestinians in general) are not fighting to “resist occupation”. Instead they are fighting to try to eliminate (aka exterminate) Jews from their historic homeland. This is further proven by the fact that they have rejected every offer they have received for a 2 state solution.
The innocent lives that were lost in this unfortunate incident again show that Hamas is deliberately putting them in danger. The fire broke out as a result of a secondary explosion caused by Hamas storing ammunition in the middle of a tent city for refugees.
Something about the number of dead civilians stood out to me. They said 46 civilians died including 23 women, children and elderly. Over 50 percent of Gaza residents are children. Of the remaining 50 percent roughly half are women. I don’t know the number of elderly so let’s make a conservative guess of 10 percent of the population. So it should be expected that out of 46, 23 would be children alone, 11.5 women and 4.6 elderly. Statistically there should have been 39 women, children and elderly in a group of 46 random civilians. The fact that 50 percent of the “innocent” victims happen to be military age males seems impossible. Why would there be such a large group of these men together near a meeting of senior Hamas commanders?
