It is not my intention at this stage of the debate to trace back the history of the Palestine question in the United Nations, of how the partition of the Holy Land was elicited, how Israel was established and how the refugees were driven out of their land. In a nutshell, the Holy Land was partitioned against the will of its people, with an alien community and Government established on the territory by sheer force of arms. This is the background of the refugee problem.
