The US is closer to Japan than any of those nations. You rightfully criticise Japan for their atrocities but they probably don’t feel too punished when the US runs over to Tokyo every day to reassure the Japanese that the Taliban don’t have boats so the US won’t be running from the ocean anytime soon.
