Seemingly as long as the kidnapped Israelis are still held by the jihadis, the international community, has an easier time at closing one eye to the death and destruction in Gaza. The International community would probably demand a faster stop to the war, if the jihadis were to pack up and held to their sponsor/funder nations; like Iran, Qatar, Turkey, etc.. But the do not do that, because in order to continue receiving funding, they need to continue aggression towards Israel. The more Israelis they can kill, the more funding they receive.
