The “have faith” argument is one of the psychological tricks cults use to lure in well meaning but naive recruits. One can equally say “have faith” in leprechauns. Religionists would immediately recognize that as absurd due to lack of evidence but when you say their particular superstitions deity’s name they throw their brains out the window..
Another one is that creation has a creator. We don’t even know if existence was created or always existed. Nor is infinite regress of causes paradox problem resolved by having a prime mover as many religionists claim. The next question is where did the alleged creator come from? If a creator can always exist or come from nothing then why can’t the same be true of existence itself? There is no need for an extra step much less evidence of it.
Another tact of many religions is fear… if you don’t follow the religion you’ll be tortured for eternity. What religionists don’t ask.. what kind of sadistic f-ck would doom someone to eternal damnation for finite crimes?
And so on.
