I look at that question from a different angle. The body is electric. EKGs, EEGs, EMGs etc record electric impulses. Electricity is energy. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. When the body dies, the energy must go somewhere. You are correct, we don’t know, but I have a strong suspicion.
