There is nothing wrong with consulting with Erdogan as a show of good will but Erdogan also needs to understand that completely ignoring UNCLOS and trying to force us to agree to his Blue Homeland Maps by threat of force isn’t going to happen.
The most Erdogan can reasonably ask from us to some leeway on Islands very close to Turkish shores and northern cyprus access to ts own portion of waters until the Cyrpus issue is settled. and that’s purely as a courtesy to end this issue. If he can’t accept that lets take the issue of island delimitation and EEZ to international court for binding arbitration. A third party UN court can weight any conflicts between the Lausanne Treaty versus UNCLOS using other international case law. Problem solved in a civilized manner. Lets not turn this into another war. There are enough of them going on in the world today.
