My feeling is that Túrkiye should compartmentalize its relations with countries in the ME. So that Túrkiye ─ Israel ties aren’t influenced by what goes on in the region. It’s not like there’s any love lost between Turks & Arabs anyway. One look at H44Y’ comment above confirms it, the “resentment” is real.
A neutral Túrkiye could attain position as an impartial, trustworthy & productive broker for the Israeli ─ Palestinian standoff. Something the world craves, & i think Túrkiye is best suited for this since Turks & Jews don’t have a history of conflict. Erdogan is frittering away that advantage.
He won’t run for Presidential elections in 2028, & i look forward to his retirement. His successor will likely be competent in English & that’s what’s missing in the leadership role. Erdogan is a divisive character, he has his fanatics & haters. The word for now is patience…
