“It seems that Israel has now turned its eyes on Lebanon after destroying and burning Gaza,” said the Turkish leader. “We see Western countries giving Israel support behind the scenes. Netanyahu’s plans to spread the war to the region will lead to a big catastrophe.” Western support for Israel, he added, is “pitiful”.

Turkey was the first Muslim country in 1951 to recognize as a legitimate country occupied Palestine after the news connected so many horrific crimes only a year or two earlier. They went around raping the Palestinian women, the massacred the Palestinian people and they expelled 90% of the indigenous population and they settled on the land of the Palestinians who got expelled. Turkey today can do the right thing and dissolve the diplomatic relations that it has with the entity.
