You obviously don’t understand the national homeland problem. To be fair most don’t because mainstream press politicians, and “human rights defenders” are full of sh-t when it comes to this issue so it never gets a public platform.
In ancient Athens democracy meant you had to be Greek male. There was no such thing as minority citizens. The rationale was that a minority would not have the interests of the state at heart but rather the interests of states (which is often true). In the modern era we have broadened the term democracy to be more inclusive.
While on some levels this is very admirable it has created an unspoken contradiction…. to have universal laws a nation cannot have an identity. This is because that identity will always become a focal point of conflict between those that defend the identity of the nation and minorities that undermine it (but same sorts switch tunes with what they see as their “real” homeland)
Rather than resolve this issue like adults most pretend the issue doesn’t even exist.
