Israel surely does have a lot of anxiety over the idea of a legitimate armed resistance in the West Bank and Gaza, not to mention Lebanon and a few of these other places in the region. Netanyahu’s fake issues about Iran making a nuclear bomb reek of the same fabrication of Iraq having nuclear weapons that Colin Powell and the US media (NYT a leader in it as well) stoked up as a jus ad bellum cover story for the US attack on Hussein. Guess what? No nuclear weapons. Once you’ve seen it a second time round is like watching the bum with the monkey and crank box. All these stories that the state of Israel makes up about itself to erase that it is a bad actor, grossly damaging to the indigenous people of Palestine, and that it has always been this way.
