Universities that call police to come injure students really shouldn’t be surprised if those students get out of jail and return to the university with torches and petrol. If the students are committing crimes, then by all means call the police…but if they are just holding signs, speaking, or sitting , or walking and not damaging people physically or damaging property and the university calls the police to be their “thugs” and commit “official assault” for the “crime” of voicing their opinion…then the university has no right to complain when things escalate to actual property damage because they authorized the property damage by initiating police force against students in violation of the student’s rights.
Just like you can’t complain when someone hits you back after you punch them .. you also can’t complain if you use a cop to punch someone and they punch you back by causing property damage. No one is fooled by a university using the police as a proxy to commit assault.
