Israel wanted nothing more to do with Gaza and every last Jew removed themselves in 2005 and it appeased no one. Hamas rockets began to rain down on Israel within weeks. The war could end at any time if Hamas would lay down their arms, release all the hostages, and stop to fire rockets into Israel’s civilian populated areas.
