“(The ICC)” called the bill “a mockery of the decades-long quest to place law above force and atrocity.” Exactly the reverse is true. The ICC makes a mockery of justice by using double standards and politcization to punish the Jewish State of Israel — not only its leaders,, but ordinary soldiers — for “genocide” and “war crimes” while letting others like Syria, China, Turkey, and Russia go scott free. The ICC clings to its charter, which was written more than 80 years ago, a charter which does not reflect the reality of war, terrorism, or the fluditiy even absence of territorial borders. It fails miserably prosecuting the non-state militias and terrorists which truly commit war crimes and genocides. Regarding Israel, the ICC is ok with Brazil and Venezeuls efforts to arrest israeli tourists for being soldiers in the Israeli army, but doesnt go after Hamas terrorists who committed atrocities on Oct 7 in Israel and against there own people in Gaza for years. The ICC will makes excuses, proudly stating that it will not go after those who commit genocide within the borders of their own country, or wont perosecute non-Members (although Israel is a non-member, and the ICC accuses its of genocide as if its a proven fact, and of course Israeli leaders should be arrested and jailed. Meanshile Hamas gerts away scott free. The ICC claims to be going after Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Hanieh, but these two people have luckily already been killed — but is the ICC yet to saythat it will arrest the Hamas leaders and commanders that rplace them? And what about Hezbollah? Hasnt it tried to ethnically cleanse the Gallilee?
This is the problem with the ICC — it is patently political and hypocritical, and it and its supporting members are anti-semitic. THe ICC is a huge joke, and the UN that supports it should be ashamed THe US senaate is doing the right thing by restoring money and support and therby keeping its hands clean
