Re: UN Special Rapporteur calls forcible transfer of Gazans ‘act of genocide’ – Middle East Monitor

Industrial level contempt and hubris toward the entire international community indicates a lack of healthy checks & balances within a state. Israeli officials proposing to push ahead with forcible ethnic cleansing, when it involves over 2 million people, with total contempt for international law & simply assuming US will protect them from any legal consequences at UN, is a very poor policy choice indeed. If Israel continues forward with this scale of contempt towards international opinion, it will eventually push US into a corner at the UN, where it can either continue covering Israel’s actions, or lose all credibility & future cooperation opportunities with much of world (most certainly entire Global South). Under those binary conditions, something will have to give, & can bet US will prioritize its own self interests, both in a Presidential election year & in its own economic sphere.
